I enjoyed being apart of the filming this Frank Hurley film, because I was respected by the other team members for the job I did, which was the research of him so we could use certain facts about Hurley.
Wow:
I learnt that Frank Hurley was around the time when Gallipoli started. His goal was to capture images that were only seen by him in real life, but to the public in photo form. This information worked for me because it was in the majority of the film. I also learnt about a lot of the war as I was doing Gallipoli in History. Also I was lucky enough to play a minor role in the film as an explorer.
Cow:
What I think could have been improved during this project was the positioning of some crew members, because some didn't do their jobs as they were supposed to. We suffered in the costume department because we spent more time on the costumes (which we didn't end up purchasing them) then on the film. I think the people who were on costume duty could of made sharper decisions.
How:
I was satisfied with my work towards film, during this project as my research went into the film. I was surprised on how good the film was, because with only a year of teaching I was impressed with everybody's work. The quality of the film was at a good standard, compared to the other films all of us have done.
Now:
If I were to be given the opportunity again I would change our planning, in the sense of time usage for each station(e.g. script storyboard etc) In some areas we communicated well and some we didn't. One of these areas where we didn't communicate was when we needed places to shoot our film. Within the last 3 weeks we were going to go to Michael's house to shoot onto a green screen. On the following Monday Harrison and I were sent out to do a Reeky of our shots of the film.
